The Dragonlance Chronicles are fantasy novels set on the continent of Ansalon, which is referred to as the "Dragonlance" setting. The Dragonlance setting was originally conceived for the novels, but it eventually became a setting for the Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying game as well. The connection is that both the novels and the game take place in the same world.
