Do second-degree burns leave scars?

Answer by  bleh (93)

Yes, second degree burns can leave scars. Avoid picking or peeling the skin off the burn as that will contribute to the scar. Keep the area moist and bandaged. By applying an ointment - like A&D Ointment or Neosporin it will help reduce the severity of the scar. Good luck

Second degree burns can be Superficial or deep. It depends on the persons overall health how quickly the burns will heal. Second degree burns can leave scars, but not always.

Small second degree burns should not leave a scar, however if you have burns over large areas of your body the scar may show.

It depends. Scars can sometimes result, particularly if the burn gets infected or is not given proper care. Any scars will be much less severe than what one would expect from more serious burns, however, and will usually fade over time.
