Boil a chicken egg to a very hard consistancy. Cook it for at least thirty min. or so. Chop the egg to very fine pieces. Using a toothpick, stab the egg pieces and offer them to the finches one at a time. The yolk and the white both should be offered to the baby finches.

While they are babies, they can be fed whole grain, powdered baby cereal and dog food. Mix a small amount of the powdered cereal powder with a small amount of water until it has a slightly runny consistency. Then grind up a few pieces of dog food and add it to the mixture.

you can take some finch food and soak it in warm milk or warm water. you can also use baby cereal or baby food. you can also get some hand feeding formula.

Finches love two things --- bugs and seeds. Make sure to only feed little ones bugs if they have been mashed up, as they cannot handle full-size bugs at their age and size. Purchase a bird seed mix. Just like most animals being fed by humans, mushing and adding water is important.
