It is possible to do this, however you'll have to do two main things before you can open to the public. First, you'd have to have all of your equipment pass several health tests and inspections. Arrange for your kitchen and home to be inspected. Secondly, you have to register as a business and get a business license.

To run a bakery from your home, you will need to check with your state's regulations, normally the Department of Agriculture or Corporations. Generally, it is not allowable. One main restriction is that most states require food operations to have three to four stainless steel sinks for santitation purposes.
