Bathe your cockatiel at least 3-4 times weekly. Put a shower perch in your shower and a new spray bottle. Using plain water a little warmer than lukewarm, spray a light mist over your bird so that it falls onto him like rain. Bathe in the morning so that he is dry by bedtime. Disinfect and empty the spray bottle.

Yes, cockatiels need to be bathed - but first, try to see if the bird doesn't want to take a bath by itself, once you provided it with a shallow bowl with cool water (most birds will jump right in). Another easy way is to use a water misting bottle (same kind you use on plants).

No, you can't bathe you bird. It can be dangerous. Birds can contract deadly infections, fungus and other dangerous health hazards, if they are not bathed properly. Birds are like cats. They are really independant and don't need human interaction to survive. So take care of yours and if you have any questions, just go to your local petshop and ask.
