Can I keep a guinea pig outside?

I built a nice pen for them outside.

No. Visits outside are ok, but temperature fluctuations can cause illness. There is also a risk of weather damage/predator attack, and your pig will get less care/attention outside.

Only if you never want to see them again. Guinea pigs are a great temptation for owls, foxes and any other sort of predatory animal that lives in your neighborhood.

You can keep them outside with a good pen, but I would not reccomend it. They aren't wild creatures since they are domesticated and they won't be able to take care of themselves if they escape.

No. Guinea pigs do not do well with fluctuations in temperature, drafts or noises. Anything lower than 75 degrees fahrenheit or above 85 and they can get sick. Build a proper C&C cage (look it up) and keep them in the house, where they will get plenty of attention.

I would think it depends on where you live, and the weather. Most animals if left in the heat would possibly dehydrate and die if not cared for properly.

No, Guinea pigs are very delicate creatures. They need warmth day and night. They need a nice cage indoors, with hay and/or bedding. Putting a guinea pig outside is unfair. Leaving your pig outside could subject it to fleas, ticks, and other bugs. Not to mention the cold and predators.

It is only safe to keep guinea pigs outside while it is warm. Guinea pigs are extremely susceptible to respiratory infections, and once they catch a cold, they have very little chance of surviving. Once it gets chilly, guinea pigs should be brought inside.

Guinea pigs can spent time outside, but they can't be kept there for very long. They enjoy digging, and will dig their way out of outdoor pens. Guinea pigs like to play outside, but be sure to watch them at all times and never leave them overnight.

I don't see why not. Just be sure to keep the pen safe from predators. If you pick them up after being in the yard they might have poison ivy.

Guinea pigs can be indoor or outdoors. Keep in mind that if you decide to keep a guinea pig outdoors consider the elements. Will you have good coverage? Also, make sure the the guinea pig has good fencing.
