Gestation is a long time compared to other rodents, it lasts about two and a half months. It is really depending on the size of the litter. Guinea pigs are born with fur and their eyes open and will suckle milk from its mother for around three to four weeks.

When a famale guinea pig become pregnant, she will have to wait two and a half months. That is about seventy four days until the babies come. The time does dependon the litter size, a larger litter will mean a longer pregnancy. The smaler the litter the longer the gestation period will be.

??? please check your facts before posting potentiall misleading information. Average gestation is around 66 days - and as the mother will cope fine without any help, there is no need for gloves !!  add a comment
