Are the large black beetle bugs in my yard dangerous?

Answer by  jeremy46 (325)

Generally, beetles are not dangerous to humans. Most merely eat poop and other dead organic material. Some, such as the asian longhorn beetle, are dangerous to trees. But not humans.

Probably not. Beetles in general are not dangerous to humans. I wouldn't suggest eating them, but that's more a personal preference that a safety issue. Some contain toxins that will make you mildly ill, you can consult a bug guide for details.
