Would a bad A/C belt cause a car to overheat when idling?

My Dodge Durango's A/C is not cooling. The belt is intact, and the fan is working. The car overheats when idling.

Sounds like a bad thermostat of a blown head gasket, both of which would cause the car to overheat. the AC isn't helping, but is not the problem

The air conditioning has nothing to do with cooling a car/truck's engine. This is the job of the radiator. If your vehicle is overheating at idol check your radiator/radiator fan setup for any leaks or malfunctions.
