Metal siding is less prone to mold buildup than vinyl siding but it can still grow without proper treatment. A power washer can remove most mold buildup when used appropriately

Vinyl or metal siding needs to be cleaned at least annually, especially if it is located in a shady area. The same problem will probably recur if not regularly maintained.

Metal siding may not solve the mold/mildew problem. It may mold and mildew as well but probably not as severely. One way to get rid of mold and mildew is to wash it with a bleach solution. Try on a small concealed area first to make sure it doesn't damage.

Your "mold" is probably on a damp, shaded, or Northern-exposure of your home. Certain metals or paints can reduce the ability of mold or algae/moss to grow; but I have seen "mold" on some metal-siding structures (granted not as common as on wooded-siding ones). Some exterior & marine-paints contain anti-biotics.
