Will a plastic guitar sound decent?

With the correct engineering, a plastic guitar could sound okay. This would be very expensive however. Guitar's are made of wood because wood resonates the tone that is played very well. Plastic does not resonate as clearly as wood and is the reason it has not become a standard for guitar.

Acoustic guitars rely on vibration for sound. A guitar made of wood would have a deeper, richer sound. If you're shopping for a guitar, try out the ones you're considering.
