The puppy might have just forgotten to go outside. Before one year of age, accidents may still happen. A 6-month-old puppy probably has not developed enough control to show complete consistency with his house training. On the other hand, something traumatic may have happened to you dog. Dogs may regress in their training when they feel insecure.

Don't beat yourself up. This actually is pretty common. It could just be something like he's not being taken out enough or something like a bladder infection. Check to see if he's sick first but if he's not he will probably get back on schedule. Just keep taking him out often and then he should get the picture again.

First you should take him to a vet to make sure he's healthy physically. Some illnesses like urinary tract infections can cause dogs to regress in housetraining. If he's ok physically he might just be rebelling because he's reaching adolescence.
