Why won't my child listen to me?

Maybe you are too passive or inconsistant. It varies on the ages of your children. Try being more firm with what you say and follow through with reasonable consequences. Remeber to always treat them with respect to teach them and never discipline out of anger.

speaking while angry or frustrated will not assist the child to listen. It is first important as parents to listen to our children, perhaps asking questions so as to understand why they feel what they want to do is important. If it does not cause any harm, then do not engage in a power struggle, lovingly find middle ground.
