Why won't my built-in webcam display via Skype even though it works through Dell webcam center?

In skype, go to Tools>Options>Video Settings. And there, change your camera selection - usually change to "FA virtual cam" from "Integrated cam". Another thing to check is if your face-recognizer program is locking up the camera in your Dell computer.

You need to activate your webcam in the skype-menu. This is nessesary, because skype has to know if there is any webcam connected with the computer. Go to options and than to video-options.

this is particularly a drives problems and not a skype problems which you might think. go to dell website and get update your drivers. it will work.
