Why will my house lights not come on?

Call your utility company and see if there is a current power outage, if there is they can tell you when to expect the power to come back on, if they weren't aware, they will probably send someone to check it out.

First check to see how widespread the problem is. Is it every light in the house or just certain ones. Most likely a breaker was tripped in the fuse box. Locate the fuse box and turn each one off, and turn it back on again. Test your lights.

If none of the lights will come on, then it is possible that the fuse has blown or the "trip switch" has been tripped. Go to the fuse box and look for the fuse for the lights (it should have a separate fuse), replace the fuse or flip the switch.
