I visited Stonehenge a few months ago... its pretty impressive. There are many theories, but one of the more popular ones is that Stonehenge was a burial ground. There were probably ceremonies and processions held there as well.

It is thought that Stonehenge was built as a calander by the ancient peoples of Britain in order to determine when important religious festivals should be held.

Stonehenge was built so long ago, no one truly know why it was built. Some believe that its a giant sundial calender.
