Why is there a clicking noise whenever I try to start my car?

It could be a sticky valve. Best way to solve that problem is run a product called seafoam through your engine for about 2 days and then change the oil, this removes all the carbon etc. from the engine.

When you say try to start your car does that mean it won't start? A couple of things can cause that click: your starter is bad or is going bad or your ignition/ignition switch is going bad or has gone bad. Those are the two most common causes.

The clicking noise is letting you know that your battery is dead and that you need to jump your battery with a pair of jumper cables.
