Possible causes include Bartholin's cyst, trauma, sexually transmitted illness, lymphedema, allergic reaction. Be sure to use lubricant during sex to prevent trauma that could result in trauma and swelling. See a physician if the problem persists for more than a couple days.

The vulva is a sensitive part. Reasons for swelling can vary. Many people report that their vulva will be somewhat swollen after exercise. Another reason for this swelling could be a bacterial or yeast infection. If a yeast infection is present, there would generally be itching or some other form of discharge or discomfort.

It can be caused due to a disease called bartholin abscess. Bartholin glands are located on both sides of the vaginal opening. Due to a block in a small duct in the gland fluid accumulation takes place. This fluid may get infected and cause swelling.

I guess you have been using some strong parfumed shower gels or intimate sprays, so here is the result. Try to wash it with cammomile tea only.
