you may have a bad fuel pressure regulator letting fuel pressure get to high and it is in turn pushing more fuel through the injectors causing you to get the poor fuel mileage.
You could have a fuel leak or a belt that is too tight or loose. Check your belt tension and tightness of hose clamps on the intake and outlet. Make sure you didn't bump anything.
