It's like a check engine light, but it indicates the issue is with your transmission. You should get the code pulled from your car at your local Ford Dealer.

This light means that you should check the engine. While giving it a look, check the transmission also because sometimes the transmission is the reason for this. You can also go to your local repair shop to get it fixed.

When the overdrive light is flashing, the auto transmission could need repair or the vacuum hose could be linking. A repair shop could give you an accurate diagnosis.

When the light is flashing you need to get the transmission check by a trained shop, it usually means there is a internal problem

It is a warning that your transmission needs sevicing or that your actual fluid level in your transpmission is low.

The overdrive is on by default and the light indicates when it is off. So something is making it turn off itself off like a problem in the transmission.

the flashing light means there is a error in your transmission, you need to take it to someone who can hook up the computer and tell you what the error is. You can cheat and reset the code yourself by disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes and it will reset, but when it happens again the light will begin flashing
