Hamsters have tremendous athletic ability. In nature, they will burrow for hours and run very quickly, forwards and backwards. Without an exercising wheel, the hamster will find other ways to run. small cages also encourage quirks like that. I recommend a hamster ball. It could also be an ear infection.

Your hamster is running in circles simply to get exercise. If he doesn't stopping running in circles, I would suggest holding him and calming him down. If the problem continues for long, I would take your hamster to a small animal vet.

Your hamster is probably exercising and burning off some steam! I would try putting one of those hamster wheels in there so they can get exercise that way instead of running in circles!

A few things can cause smaller animals to run in circles. The easiest to deal with is an ear infection. But it could be as serious as a stroke or heart attack. Either way, you should see you vet as soon as possible.
