It could be a number of things. A few answers could be, it is not getting enough sun, it is getting too much water, or you are usin too many cemicals on it. Normally it is caused by too much or too little of a specific thing. Think about all the things done to your yard this year.

Grass can often yellow due to poor watering, insufficient fertalizer in the soil blight or any combination of these. Regular watering and the use of plant fertalizers or plant foods can ofter solve thise problem.

You could possibly be removing too much of the blades of grass each time you mow. In the future, mow more often. It could also be an iron deficiency. Adding ferrous sulfate or ferrous ammonium sulfate will level out the pH balance of the lawn and help to bring back the color.

Grass often yellows due to too much fertilizer and it is burning out. You need to make sure to use phosphates and lime.

Yellowing grass is a sign that your grass is not getting the amount of nutrition it needs. Try fertilizing your lawn with an organic fertilizer and continue to fertilize ever 6-8 weeks.
