When a fish is swimming around with its head down, it's a sign that a fish is sick. It may be suffering from an internal infection that impacts its swim bladder, it may have intestinal worms or it may have been poisoned by bad water in the tank. You should change your fishbowl's water, and isolate the fish.

Fish have small bubbles in their head that tell them which way is up. When a disturbance in the water causes a shock wave to go through the water, the wave can concuss the fish, bursting the bubbles and ruining their sense of direction.

A Swim Bladder problem. The swim bladder is used float the fish like a submarines air tank. When this bladder is deformed it causes problems like upside swimming
