This is an indication of Gastrointestinal disease and needs to be treated promptly. Causes could be blockage, bacteria, virus, parasites, ulcers or cancer. This needs immediate attention by a vet. Often there is watery and/or bloody stools, tenderness to touch, fever, loss of appetite. Your pet needs its doctor, as soon as possible.

If your ferret's stomach is constantly swollen perhaps they are overweight. If this is something new I would suggest seeing a vet right away it could be an intestinal twist or bloat like condition which is life-threatening. Be certain the ferret is not eating something else you dont realize.

There could be something seriously wrong with his or her internal organs. I suggest you take him to a vet right away, as it might be serious and require surgery. If it is a female that has not been fixed, it could be pregnant. Either way, take it to the vet right away!

Your ferret may have an intestinal blockage. Are they eating, drinking, and eliminating normally? If not, you should take them to a vet immediately. If they are, they may be getting a tumor of some kind, which should also be checked by a vet.

A gastrointestinal disease could cause this. Many things could be bringing this about such as a virus, blockage, bacteria, parasites, ulcers, or even worse, cancer. A vet should look at the ferret if it has watery or bloody stools; stomach is tender to the touch, fever, or loss of appetite.

There could be many reasons why your ferret has a swollen abdomen. It could have parasites such as round worms. Gas can also be a another cause or it could have a enlarged spleen or turmor of some kind. I would recommend on taking it the vet and have it checked.
