Why is my disposal not draining?

It is likely that there is grease or food lodged in the discharge tube. This has to be dismantled to be cleared. Do not use drain opener.

usually garbage will not drain as the pores are tightened there would not be any space of drainging of water from it.

Your disposal has a clog of some sort. Most likely something such as a plastic bread bag or even a dish cloth is causing your troubles. If there is an unbearable smell then most often its a cloth. Turn off the power and find a volunteer to remove the item

I would say that you have something that has clogged it up. You can take it apart and check it. Just make sure the power is off before doing so.

I had the same problem. Turned out that the "weep hole" was a hole in the housing where the water pressure eventually popped a hole through the plastic housing. Replacement was the only option. Ours was a Badger 1.
