Why is my Dachshund shivering?

Small dogs are closer to the floor, hence they can get a lot colder. Either that or your dog is scared of you.

Is it colder than normal? Dachshund's have short thin coats and can be very sensitive to temperature changes. If this isn't the case then the animal might be very stressed. Small dogs tend to 'shiver' when they are excited or agitated and can't do anything about it.

Small dogs lose heat quicker than larger ones,maybe because of that ur dog feels cold. My puppy used to do when scared, or when lot of strange people around him.

Dachshunds are small dogs and are easily chilled. As silly as it looks to see a dog wearing a sweater in very cold weather small dogs can benefit from clothing.
