Why is my cat urinating and defecating on the concrete floor near the litter box but not in the litter box?

The cat most likely still smells the scent on the floor and wants to continue marking its territory. Clean the concrete with an enzyme cleaner to eliminate the smell.

Your pet may be trying to tell you something. You should call your vet, or take your pet to the vet as soon as possible. Cats are very intelligent animals, and they sure do know how to get our attention. Your pet may have a urinary tract problem, or another serious condition.
