Why is my cat crying for seemingly no reason?

There are various reasons that can cause this. Some medical issues will cause a cat to cry more (get an exam to be sure), cat is in heat, a loss in the family or your cat could be following talk patterns in the house. Talkative people have chatty cats vice-versa.

Domesticated cats cry or "meow" to mimic humans communicating via sound. Your cat may simply be saying hello by "meowing" at you or may be trying to get your attention.

Some cats are nutty. Siamese anyone? But, seriously, crying's a sign that they want or need something. The cat might be sick and it's better to eb safe than sorry.

Once my cat ate vanilla ice cream and it made the cat cry. I think that it was too cold for it to handle.
