Your baby has been eating and sleeping during the day. By night, the food that the baby has eaten, whether milk and/or baby food is beginning to be digested. This in turn has created gas in the baby's system at night. Try feeding the baby smaller meals, more times per day. This should help with the gas problem.

When babies are settling down at night their digestive system settles down as well. They need to get rid of all of the air bubbles and so they are gassy at night.

She may have not burped enough ofter feeding. You should try some Milacon or Little Tummies right before you put your baby to bed to help soothe gas pains at night.

The culprit for night time gassiness is most likely the last feeding. When your child eats before sleep, and then lays down , their bodies are more prone to gassiness.

It may be that she has been a little gassy during the day, but only really responded to it at night. Try some gas drops.

Many babies with colic seem to be fine during the day and have their gassy periods during the night. Also, be sure you are burping enough before putting baby down.

If the baby is breast feeding, the mother must be cautious in taking of the gas trouble products like tobacco etc. Gripe water is also a good remedy for gassy.
