Why is Dr. Krauthammer in a wheelchair?

Years ago, during Dr. Krauthammer first year of medical school, he dove into a swimming pool where he hit his head on the cement. From that day on he has been confined to a wheelchair. Those who know Dr. Krauthammer know that the wheelchair does not stop him from doing what he enjoys.

Dr. Charles Krauthammer was paralyzed in a diving accident during this first year of medical school in 1972. Krauthammar did not let his injury define him and he went on to earn his MD in psychiatry from Harvard. He is now a noted political commentator.
