Why is Christianity and profanity never allowed?

One of the ten commandments prohibits taking the name of God in vain. This is interpeted as profanity. It is just not considered a good practice by believers. It is not considered as terrible as murder, but still not recommended.

I wouldn't say it's never allowed - a lot depends on the Christian you are talking to. The main concern comes from the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus stated (Matthew 5:33 - 37) his followers should "not swear at all. " Because of that, oaths of any sort, even profane ones, are to be avoided.
