Why is air invisible?

Air is invisible because it does not absorb light in the visible portion of the electromagnetic spectrum very well. Tis is because Oxygen and Nitrogen do not absorb vsible light.

Air by definition cannot be seen. It is a flow which is felt rather than actually seen. Thus air can be described as being invisible to all of us for this reason.
