Children are often amuzed by their own feces and this should be discouraged and prevented in order to prevent other health problems.

That's not normal at all and you should get the child to a doctor right away so they can find out and treat the problem right away. Do not delay with this it sounds very out of the ordinary and there could be something very wrong with the little one.

Sometimes eating feces can be a symptom of pica, but that is rarely diagnosed in toddlers. Freud theorized that children enter a phase of development where they become anally fixated. Body curiosity is normal, but the child should be discouraged from actually eating the feces for health reason.

Toddlers are very curious by nature, and often times are wondering what exactly it is that feces are. Remember, they investigate by putting things into their mouths quite often. I would recommend you see the doctor for tips.
