Much like human snot, the color can indicate the level (or type) of illness that your puppy is experiencing. Green is usually a sign of a bacterial infection, so I would suggest that you take the little puppy to a vet to diagnose it properly and suggest medication for you.

The puppy could have a respiratory infection, kennel cough, or it could have allergies. This isn't something you want to watch for a while. The puppy would need to go to the vet asap. Just as in the case of humans, green mucous normally means that it could be an infection.

Colored mucus is generally an indication of an infection of some kind. It could also be allergies, though not as likely. If the mucus doesn't get any better in a week or two, or gets worse, it needs to be seen by a vet to get antibiotics.

Your puppy has green snot coming out of his nose because he may have a cold. Puppies are susceptible to getting colds.
