The darker the wood the more it shows everything. You must sweep several times a day and spray mop several times a week. It takes a lot of maintance.

No one can help to prevent the fall of dust. Must be the area in which you live in is airy. The blowing winds even gentle breeze could bring in dust. Some type of factory which is polluting the air with dust particles may be nearer to your place which causes this problem.

Laminate floors show dust a little bit more then a true wood flooring. The causes for this are the finishes used sometimes have electro-static charge which causes the dust to stick and sometimes the texture to the finish layer acts as a dust trap. Your best bet for laminate floors is a damp swiffer sweeper.
