Keep her away from high heat, make sure she has water available at all times. This could be a stress or fear reaction. However, this could be upper respiratory infection, particularly if you got her from a pet store. Google the symptoms, and consult your vet.

Its nothing to worry,New born kitten pant when we touch them because they are feel stressed or way to hot. They just try to cool them selves down and regulate their breathe by panting. In such cases you can give your kitten fresh cold water.

From my experience, its not a common thing when a cat pant. Usually kitten pant because of the lack of sweat glands due to excessive activities, or the high temperature.

Animals pant in order to cool down. If your kitten was running and playing alot, it probably got really hot.
