Why does my husbands urine smell like sulfur?

Answer by  unimaginativeone (116)

This is most likely the result of a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection) and really should be diagnosed and treated by a doctor to avoid complications in future or a spread of infection to the kidneys.

There are many reasons why urine might have a strong smell. Some causes are diet, supplements, illness or disease. If there is pain or concern, you should contact your family practitioner.

Many times the foods and beverages that we drink have a tendency to affect the smell of our urine. If he's on medication, this may be the cause as well.

It sounds like your husband is not hydrated enough. Please instruct him to increase his intake of fluids, especially water. Avoid caffeine, diuretics, salt, and any other foods that might cause his body to be dehydrated.
