I would guess that the crate is too large for the dog to properly potty-train. The best way to stop him from peeing is to adjust the crate's size so that it is just barely larger than he is and reduce the amount of time he is in the crate initially then gradually build it back up.

How old is your dog. May be he is under stress or may be he is ill. You shoould consider taking your dog to the vet. Some dogs suffer from phycoloical illness which will usually make them behave starnge. Try to note the time and take him outside and teach him his pot habits.

There are several possibilities, most obvious that she is being crated too long, especially in the case of an older dog who may be becoming incontinent. She might have a urinary tract infection or displaying separation anxiety. The only person who can diagnose this is a vet; we owe it to our animals to have such conditions diagnosed by professionals.

If you bought the crate used or have used it to kennel other animals, it might be trying to mark his/her territory. In that case, an enzyme cleaner available at pet stores for around $10 can completely eliminate the scent. If that's not the case and it's fully housebroken, it may have a urinary tract infection.
