The car stalls when you turn on the ac because the idle drops to low. All you need to do is clean the throttle body and problem solved.

A couple things i can think of off the top of my head. You've either got a bad ignition or spark plug, your battery might be dying or have a poor connection, or it's possible that it's cold where you're from, and your engine has low oil and is "gunking" up.

The car is stalling out because your ac is causing the battery to drain and it is making the car stall out.

When a car is crusing say at 40 mph and the A/C is turned off, does the A/C pulley apply minimal resistance to teh crankshaft pulley and vice, when the A/C gets turned on, the a/c compressor applies resistance to the crankshaft in order to operate the AC, and that is why.

Your ac compressor may be locked up. When a compressor is locked up the alternator, or serpentine belt, won't turn over.
