Why does my ABS light come on when I hold down the brake pedal?

If the light comes on even with only light brake application, it probably means ABS is not working properly. This is dangerous; take the car to a mechanic.

Without know any information about your car I can tell you exactly what it means. IT sounds as if brake of the abs system is going bad. Since it only comes on when the pedal is applied. Have your car scanned for codes to help track down the problem.

It will come on from now and then when you press the brake pedal because the abs is out of calabration. have it calabrated.

It sounds like you have an issue in your abs system that only occurs under pressure. you should have a mechanic check it out. It could be something serious.
