Why do some people feel entitlted to a particular job?

Some people believe that they are more qualified than the person currently existing in the position. Some people believe that no one could perform the job better than they do. The sense of entitlement comes from overconfidence coupled with a sense of insecurity.

Feeling entitled to a job may be part of a larger sense of entitlement as in a narcissistic personality disorder or may be because someone has exceptionally well suited skills.
