Why do some guys have one pant leg rolled up?

This is not to uncommon. Many men roll up one pant leg if they ride a bike. Usually it is the pant leg on the side of the bike chain. This way when they are peddling, they do not get any greas one dirt on their nice pants. Simple, huh?

If the person is riding a bike, they are rolling the pant leg up to keep the chain grease from staining the pant leg. However, this is a popular look in urban fashion as a result.

Rolling one pant leg up used to be a gang symbol, but it made it's way more mainstream (and by celebrities) and is seen more in the bigger cities in the 90's.
