I could say its because of the sulfides in the wine reacting with the nerve endings of your feet. I could be you have athlete's foot and were never sufficiently relaxed to notice until you took the wine. Maybe you worked stomping the grapes. In that case you should clean out the residual grape skins between your toes.

Most people with this problem find they are allergic to the preservatives used when making wine. The most common culprit is Sulfites. There are many kinds of wine that do not list sulfurous acid as an ingredient. Go to a wine store and ask the clerk to find you a bottle without sulfurous acid and give it a try.

Wine contains sulfates, perhaps you have an allergy. You could compare wine from the US to wine from France. French wines have less preservatives. I would take note if it was only red wine or white or both. If they both cause your feet to itch, then I think I would just avoid wine in general.

Wine cannot be considered as a liquor. I don't think feet itching and drinking wine is interconnected. If the wine was prepared a long time ago, the wine may give a kick like sensation which you feel as feet itching. Wine won't give any harm to your health.
