Seeking approval from others is to confirm that your views or opinions are correct. The other reason for seeking approval from others might be because you respect the opinion from certain group of people, or because you think that whatever they decide is always correct. When a person is not much confident of his decisions, he seeks other people's approval.

Because you didn't get approval in your childhood. That was my problem. I seek approval and when I get it I don't think I deserved it.
