A common cause of LCD televisions shadows would be leaving your tv on for a long period of time.for example, if you leave your tv on lifetime network the logo remains on the bottom of the screen for a while.

You may be seeing shadows, or dark spots, on your screen because you have have paused a program or video game for too long. When the screen displays the same image for a long period of time, that image can be partially embedded into the screen due to overheating of the screen components.

If this an older tube-based TV, then it's possible that your tube is going out, as it's not refreshing correctly. There is no remedy for this, you will need a new TV. If this is a newer LCD or Plamsa, confirm that your video connections are correct, and fully plugged. Also, bad signals may cause this ghosting you are seeing.

the shadows will be always seen after leaving the tv on because when you watch tv for more than a hour some amount of heat is emitted out. not only heat nut also some radiations from the picture tube.
