Many things can cause this condition. The most common is overeating because a stomach that is too full can press on the diaphragm and cause this sensation. Indigestion and food allergies may also be the culprit.

Shortness of breath after meals is caused by your body's inability to work properly when eating and breathing. This can be due to lung or heart problem. It can be serious or due to a simple cold. This is something that I recommend you speak to your doctor about.
