Often obsessive death fears cover other anxieties. Ask yourself, is there something else I fear? The answer that makes you uncomfortable may be the thing that is really bothering you.

It isn't uncommon to fear something. Death is a common fear amongst the living. Going overboard with any fear is a sign you should definitely talk to a mental health professional. If it is interfering with your thoughts and day-to-day living, you could also be suffering from depression and/or anxiety. Get checked out.

Because death exists. It's perfectly reasonable to want to preserve the self. I suppose all people have an obsessive fear of death.
