Why do Christians try to convert the religion of others?

Christians believe that the only way to God is through His Son Jesus Christ. All other paths lead to Hell. God makes it clear He does not want people to go to Hell, but he also offers us a choice to believe in Jesus or not. Christians want people to go to Heaven, thus one reason for evangelism.

Christians try to convert others because their Bible says they should. Also many of them either can't understand or are totally horrified by the idea that there are people that don't believe exactly what they do. Therefore many of them feel the need to jam their beliefs down others throats.
