Why do cats lie on paper?

Cats like to lay on paper and plastic to keep warm, these materials insulate body heat better than other things. Also, many cat-owners experience this also when their cat may want attention or they just enjoy the rustling sound that papers make when they decide to lay on them, whichever results in more pets!

It could be because cats like to lay near people. They are just trying to get your attention by ling on a paper. It could also be because cats like confined spaces. The defined edges of the paper give them the sense that they are laying on a small space, not the expansive floor.

Well my cats seems to like to lay on paper because it makes noise when she plays with it and I have heard that it is also because paper is warm to them. All I know is that they do love to lay on it.
