An alarm clock has to be something you would notice if asleep. You can get an alarm clock that is more alarming -- mine connects up with my cell phone and I notice that -- or you can get an accomplice to wake you up physically at the same time as an alarm clock. Other people's alarm clocks light/vibrate.

It's possible you are in such a deep sleep that the sound of the alarm is not enough to rouse you. Alternately, the tone might not be loud of enough.

You're in deep sleep and didn't hear the alarm. Try setting it to a morning show or newstation, so you gradually awake. The information might become part of your dream.

You might be getting enough sleep at night. It's also possible you own a weak alarm clock. Try buying one of those atomic clocks. They are loud!
